Lubi Ug Dagami (Coconut And the Grass)

This vintage video was taped in 1981 or 82 during the “dance-drama” competition called Sugilanon Sa Sayaw (Stories Through Dance) held in Cebu City. Minglanilla Cultural Group comprised mostly of amateur performers and some leading dancers from Cebu at that time headed by myself Guy Rendon as lead dancer (Lubi) choreographer, Marites Dabasol – choreographer, Joe Galleon (Dagami) – choreographer. Stage play and direction by Raji Yulo Palanca, Luigi Unabia was the head of production while the municipality of Minglanilla headed by Eddie Selma helped with the financed and logistical support.
