V Asian Group, Inc., a Las Vegas-based Marketing & Entertainment Promotions company which owns the TV channel brand V AsianTV, has recently finalized a deal with Vegas TV (KTUD 25) to operate its digital channel 25.3 to air programs aimed at the Asian-American community of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.  It will be the first ever local channel dedicated to the biggest ethnic communities in the Valley, which includes Filipinos, Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, South Asian Indians, Japanese and Thais.
V AsianTV has a wide array of travel and lifestyle programs, all in English, produced by and for Asians.  Top on the list is “It’s Vegas with Lani”, a mainstream show hosted by an Asian, which features the best destinations and experiences in and around Las Vegas. Ms. Lani Misalucha became the first Asian female performer to headline Las Vegas. She has been called “Siren of the Strip” by Show Biz Magazine on their cover and “The New Diva of Las Vegas” by What’s On Magazine. In March 2008, Lani was voted “Best Singer” (staff pick) in the “27th Annual Best of Las Vegas” by the Las Vegas Review Journal.  This puts her in the same sentence as super‐diva Celine Dion, the readers’ pick for “Best Singer”.  Lani will show the global audience a new perspective of Las Vegas by presenting it as a beautiful, exhilarating destination.  It is a unique, fast-paced, colorful and inviting TV series that will show the world that Vegas is not just the Entertainment Capital of the World, but also the Art, Food, Destination, Adventure and Wedding Capital of the world, as well.
New programs in the production stage are:

  • 1. ASIATOWN – Animated billboard and brief intros (30 to 90 second segments) of Asian businesses and entrepreneurs or doing business with Asians in the Las Vegas Valley.
  • 2. WHAT’S FOR DINNER? – Each day, viewers will have the opportunity of either following the chef’s instructions in preparing the featured dinner or simply driving to the featured restaurant and order the featured dinner for the day.  6 featured dinners each week (M-F + weekend specials).  Aired 2x daily, 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM, the show is hosted by Ria Villanueva, a Los Angeles-based party hostess who comes to Vegas weekly just to check out what’s cooking on and off the Strip.
  • 3. STRIP TALK – A weekly magazine show, with patented stand-alone segments spotlighting the most talked-about events in Vegas:  Stargaze (celebrity watch); Wazzup (events calendar); Bargain Hunt (best deals in town); and Peep squeak (behind the curtain interview of show headliners).
  • 4. GOOD MORNING LAS VEGAS – A breath of fresh air every morning comes in the form of good news.   A young, energetic host wakes Vegans up with an array of good news happening in the Valley.  15 mins daily, watch out for the show’s featured segment  ”My hero”, which documents a heroic act of a local that provides a positive impact on another’s life.
  • 5. ASIAN NEWS – Weekly update on the Top stories affecting the Asian ethnic communities in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.  Hosted by Asian Community leader Jing Espiritu.

Vegas TV is owned by the Greenspun Corporation headquartered in Henderson, Nevada.  Its primary focus is to offer a variety of TV programming to the Las Vegas market.  Its top daytime programming includes familiar sitcoms like “Frasier”, “Roseanne” and court room drama like “Judge Joe Brown”.  Vegas TV has over a quarter of a million viewers weekly.  Vegas TV is proud to be the first TV Station in Las Vegas to dedicate one of its digital channels to growing and vibrant Asian- American community in Las Vegas.

Living Asia Channel, the first Asian Travel & Lifestyle channel that caters to the Global Asian (English-speaking) market, is being distributed throughout Asia by Dream Broadcasting System from the Philippines and redistributed by major cable and satellite providers in Southeast Asia.  As the Global distributor of Living Asia Channel programs, V AsianTV will be promoting Las Vegas properties in Southeast Asia, and will serve as the official welcome channel to Asian visitors in Las Vegas.

V AsianTV will be launched to the public during the Chinese New Year celebrations at the Fremont Street Experience Las Vegas and is expected to start its 24/7 broadcast by mid-February 2012.
